The Un-Directed: Most people want to be of
service but they either have no money or they don’t
know how to be of service, or both. Many
people simply feel overwhelmed by the immensity of the
problems facing humanity today, so they focus on their
own and their family’s survival.
Others simply live in denial.
They see things like Global
Climate Change as a fantasy of the foolish -- as a
hippie, tree-huggers fairytale. Still others
think that God, by way of The Rapture,' is
going to solve all their Earthly problems by sweeping
them and their families away into heaven.
The
well-intended: Most people who do have
money and actually do donate it, give it to
symptom-treating organizations. They
hope the money actually gets to the poor and needy.
Bureaucracies are notoriously inefficient and, all too
often, middlemen end up with most of the money.
The
Solution-Focused: The vast majority of
charitable groups are well intended and vitally needed.
And in addition to treating symptoms, focus also needs
to be directed at root causes.
For most human conflicts, this
is not being done. Many problems would cease
to be a problem if root causes to the controversies were
being addressed. For example, about seventy
percent of the crime worldwide would disappear if the
sales of presently illegal drugs were legalized and
drug-misuse was treated as a medical problem only. (Also,
terrorists and other anti-social organizations would lose the source of most
of their money.)
Another area that must be
addressed is human overpopulation. This
issue is almost completely ignored even though it
significantly amplifies and severely aggravates every
major problem on the entire planet.
Root Causes: The core (the
foundation) of every problem is located in the belief
system of the people creating or participating in the
problematic behavior. One could rightly say that
ignorance is the root of all evil. Why?
Because false or incomplete, or inaccurate beliefs
produce destructive or ineffective results.
Endowment
for the Transformation of Consciousness: TLC-Life-Center is spearheading
the creation of a foundation whose purpose is to find,
fund, and direct projects that result in the
transformation of human consciousness -- projects that
wake people up to the reality around them..
The foundation directors will
choose which projects to pursue. People will
be invited to direct their donations and/or their time
and expertise to the projects that interests them.
Our
Outreach Focal Point: Preserving the Virgin
Redwood Forests is designed to be our public forerunner.
This is just one example of altering consciousness.
It teaches and demonstrates how cooperation can
produce phenomenal results, such as ending the
destruction of the last remaining virgin
redwood forests. This project is examined
and explained in detail on the website titled:
How
to Preserve the Last of The Virgin Redwood Forests
